Description
The Kiryandongo area was first used for resettling refugees in 1954 when the British colonial administration moved Kenyan refugees fleeing the Mau Mau Uprising. The Kiryandongo Refugee Camp provides shelter, land, and support to more than 65,000 people. While, 61,970 refugees are from South Sudan, there are also refugees from from Kenya, Congo, Rwanda and Burundi.
